The hydro-engineering structure’s architecture merges with the local landscape of vast wet meadows. Its task is to pump water from the polders located on the outer side of the embankments of the flood control reservoir when the gravitational runoff is not possible (i.e. when the water level in the receiving reservoir is higher than in the channels). At the pumping station, you can find an information board describing the operation of the station and some historical snippets, such as the description of the local citizens from the two years after the end of World War II when the station was non-operational.
