Farm fields and meadows near Nowy Lubusz and Pławidło
In autumn and winter, the fields and meadows around Nowy Lubusz and Pławidło become a feeding ground for thousands of bean geese and greater white-fronted geese, and hundreds of mute swans and hooper swans. The species characteristic for the local fields is the crane. At the beginning of autumn, birds start arriving in large flocks, gradually increasing their numbers to as many as several thousand. The valley of the Oder and the Warta near its mouth serve as a “meeting point” for cranes before the annual migration south.
