The Late Gothic temple, funded by Jan Opaliński and built by Wojciech Ruda, was built in 1518 and reconstructed after a fire around 1620. The church was completely remodelled twice, with the second remodelling completed in 1928. The ornamental main altar dates back to the 17th Century and is decorated with a copy of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo’s painting “Assumption of the Virgin”. The style of interior of the church is predominantly Baroque. In 2002, a new bell tower was erected at the church with three bells.
