The church in Chlastawa is a magnificent and unique example of sacred timber architecture, dating back to 1637 and built originally for Protestants. The temple complex also includes a bell tower, a gate and a cemetery. The church was built on a rectangular plan, with the so-called annexes added on the sides. The tower was not erected until 1901. The interior features a vault ceilings with visible elements of the truss system. The church is built around a beautifully ornamented central column. The original frescos were painted with tempera. The roof has external timbering which was also renovated.
