The church was built in the years 1778-1780 as a result of the efforts of Feliks Szołdrski, the founder of the town. Originally a Protestant temple, after World War II it was taken over by Roman Catholics. The church was built on a Greek cross plan (with all arms of equal length) of brick and boulders. There are three altars inside: the main altar with a painting worshipping the Heart of Jesus, the sacrificial altar, and a side altar with the image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The church is located in the town centre.
