The town square in Zbąszyń is the centre of the town’s life. Every September, a giant tent is set up there to host the two-day Bagpipe Feast (Polish: Biesiada Koźlarska) - a festival of the Kozioł Region (Polish: Region Kozła). Musicians compete for prizes as the town citizens enjoy a traditional feast. In the southern part of the market, there is a statue of a bagpiper playing the traditional regional variation of the instrument, known as “kozioł”.
