The church was built in the 16th Century in a Roman Catholic cemetery in Babimost. Having suffered numerous fires, it was eventually rebuilt in 1850 in the form which survives to this day. The church is an aiseless temple with a semi-circular chancel and a rectangular sacristy in the western section. The temple is overlooked by a steeple with a 30 kg bell.
