The historic park in Kargowa has the largest beech tree in Poland. The trunk circumference at 1.3 m above ground is 730 cm long, and the circumference at the trunk base is over 8 m long. The beech is 29 m high. Furthermore, the park also has several historic hornbeam avenues. The park’s history is closely related to the palace built for the Saxon electors, which hosted King Augustus II the Strong and prince Frederick Augustus of Saxony.
