Monument of the insurgents from the Greater Poland uprising

Uncovered in 2004, the monument has three plinths, each symbolising one of the Partitions of Poland. On the middle plinth, there is a sculpture of an eagle and an inscription: “Fatherland from their will and blood”. Next to the monument, you can see plaques commemorating the Greater Poland insurgents and also the Polish soldiers from Opalenica who were murdered in Katyń. The monument was designed by Artur Kaczmarek and Ryszard Napierała, and the eagle was sculpted by Robert Sobociński.
