The largest power station in the Lubusz region and also the oldest hydroelectric power station in Poland. Built in the years 1934-36, this type of power station (i.e. a pumped storage hydroelectric plant) pumps the water from the lower reservoir into the upper one during low energy demand periods. When the demand increases, the water is discharged from above to power the turbines and generate electricity. The power station generates up to 90 megawatts. In 1945, when the Soviet troops captured the region, it was dismantled and hauled deep into Russia. It was reconstructed, however, and the first turbine was launched in 1951. The power station has since then undergone multiple expansions and renovations, and is the pride of the citizens of Dychów.
