The stone commemorates the site where in 1960, Karol Wojtyła, later elected Pope John Paul II, carried his kayak by land during the kayak trip down the Lubusz Water Trail from Sława to Skwierzyna. The kayak carrying site is located on the Dźwina river, on the trail between Lake Wilcze and Lake Chobienickie. The stone and the plaque were installed in 2011.
