The Ołobok river today is a 24 km long channel, starting from Lake Niesłysz and flowing into the Oder river. Before World War II, the river was engineered into a fortress channel during the construction of fortifications called the Niesłysz-Obra Line. There are 15 hydro-engineering structures on the channel, including 6 movable bridges and 9 weirs. The weirs made it possible to dam the water, turning a calm river into a serious obstacle for the enemy.
