The village was founded in 1787 after the local forest had been felled. In 1870, the Zielonczyn had around 118 souls. The village was located at the main road connecting Stepnica and Wolin. The most interesting place in Zielonczyn is the Zielonczyn Height. There is an observation tower there with two levels, offering a magnificent view on the local landscape. Visitors can enter the lower level of the tower, placed at around 34 m above the ground. The lookout point is also a perfect picnic spot.
