The bridge was protected by the two nearby concrete emplacements with a machine gun and an anti-tank gun. Built in the years 1936-37, this small sliding bridge belongs to the fortification system of the Fortified Front Oder-Warthe-Bogen (also known as Międzyrzecz Fortification Region) and was completed at the same time as channel no. 706 which connected Lake Goszcza with the village of Mostki. A special mechanism made it possible to slide and raise the bridge so that it would completely block the road west.
