The geological discovery path runs through the former underground and surface mining of lignite and clay conducted here between 1920 and 1973. The discovery path can be found in the immediate vicinity of the town of Łęknica, within the geological structure called the Muskau Bend (Polish: Łuk Mużakowa). Approximately 5 km long, the discovery path will allow you to safely observe up close the post-mining landscape, which is a rarity in Poland. A mandatory stop on the discovery path is the observation tower with viewing terraces at 14 m and 24 m at the water reservoir called “Africa” (Polish: Afryka).
