Cloth Maker’s Monument

Address Plac Jana Pawła II, 66-200 Świebodzin, Świebodzin
From the Middle Ages to the 19th Century, Świebodzin was one of the most prominent cloth making centres in Silesia. The monument commemorates the importance of the cloth making industry in the history of the town. The monument, uncovered in 2016, was designed and sculpted by Zofia Bilińska. An interesting fact about the monument: it was made in the Year of Henryk Sienkiewicz, who mentioned the cloths from Świebodzin twice in his works. Perhaps the Nobel prize-winning novelist had some connection to Świebodzin.
