“Dębowy Ostrów” Nature Reserve
Located on a peninsula on Lake Paklicko Wielkie in the Forest Inspectorate of Świebodzin, the nature reserve was established to protect an area of a primal acidophilus oak forest with a rich undergrowth. The 100-years-old tree stand includes English oaks, pines, aspens and birches. On the wetlands surrounding the nature reserve, you can spot swans, great crested crebes, common herons, kingfishers, sea eagles and beavers. Due to its relatively small area and lack of a buffer zone, the nature reserve is exposed to degradation. The area of the reserve is under strict protection and can be visited only with a forester. To book a tour, please contact the “Nowy Dworek” recreational centre.
