The big bridge, the bridge on the Oder River or just the bridge - this is how the residents of the city and also the visitors call it. As for such a construction, it is not old. The bridge was built in 1905 in the George Beuchelt's factory in Zielona Góra. Today a board placed at the left-bank side of the bridge commemorates this fact. The company was famous for great projects which involved a production of rolling stock and bridges in the first place. The entrepreneur was invited to high society events. He used to received his birthday wishes from the German emperor himself. One of George Beuchelt's greatest products is, for example, Grunwald Bridge in Wrocław. Interestingly, his factory also produced the construction elements of the zoo in Wrocław. The company from Zielona Góra participated in the construction of the railroad Damascus-Baghdad.
