Wierzchląd - the Giants’ Hill
Wierzchląd is a manor village with buildings situated perpendicular to the shoreline of Lake Miedwie. Aside from the farm facilities, the complex also included a palace, a church (built in 1895 with boulder and brick, and destroyed completely in 1945), and a park. Today, the only remains of the original complex include: devastated church crypts with the sarcophagi of the owners, the park gate (from the second half of the 18th Century), the park (covering 14 hectares, with an avenue of old lime trees, hornbeams and chestnuts), a barn (originating from the 19th Century), and a warehouse from the beginning of the 20th Century. In the village, there is also a fishery with a harbour, and a Centre of Military Sports. There is a beach with a pier at the lake, but without a lifeguard.
