Wood tar factory

Address 68-219 Tuplice
Along the northern bank of Wunzen Teich (currently Duży Staw [Large Pond]) and further Wunzen (the Widzyna River, currently wrongly named Pstrąg [Trout]), you can get to the place once known as Pechofen. This German name comes from a wood tar factory worked here ages ago and was mentioned in written records in 1818 and 1840. In this place tar was made of pine wood by the dry distillation method and used for e.g. sealing barrels or as grease for wooden wheel hubs. The object does not exist anymore.
