This first wooden church was mentioned for the first time in 1404. It was used by the Evangelicals and after the Thirty Years' War it was returned to the Catholics. An interesting fact are the circumstances of turning the church over to the Catholics, because it was a horserace that decided the holder of the church. The new brick church was built in 1604 and the construction was supervised by the contemporary owner of Sława - Melchior von Rechenberg.
