The first mentions of the temple date back to 1604. According to the chronicles, the church was built by adapting two tenement houses adjacent to the defensive walls. The church received its current form after a fire in 1685. Since the temple has remarkable acoustics, it was renovated several years ago and has been used for choir performances ever since.
