The church in Szlichtyngowa was built in 1645 on a cross plan and funded by Jan Szlichtyng. 300 hundred years later, on Good Friday in 1995, the church burned down, with only the bell tower and wooden cross surviving the fire. A new temple was built on the same site and consecrated in 1999.
