The church in Wapnica was built of granite stone in the 13th century, and a stone tower was added later - in the 14th century. In is known that in 1492 it was a parish church, as it is today. In the 17th-18th centuries the tower was covered with a Baroque dome. After 1945 the church was abandoned. In 1981 the sanctuary was reconstructed. The tower was covered with a tented roof. Currently, it is a Roman Catholic church.
