The town council of Lipiany passed a resolution to create a nature monument consisting of 27 small-leaved limes with trunk circumferences ranging from 90 cm to 335 cm and reaching the height of up to 20 m. The monument was created on the so-called “Napoleon’s Hill”. The lime trees grow in a circle with the diameter of 12 m, symbolising Napoleon Bonaparte surrounded by his marshals and generals. The lime tree in the middle was the symbol of the French Emperor, but was later cut down and only a stub remains of it today. The inner circle of trees are the marshals, and the outer one - the generals.
