Monument of the Battle of Sarbinowo (1758)

Address Sarbinowo, 74-405 Sarbinowo
On 25 August 1758, one of the bloodiest battles of the Seven Years’ War took place at the village of Sarbinowo between the Russian and the Prussian armies. Both sides declared victory and both lost around 20,000 men on the field. More than 1,000 Poles served in both armies. For the Kingdom of Prussia, established in 1701, the battle was a matter of national prestige, hence the army was commanded personally by King Frederick II the Great.
