The 4-km long Klasztorne esker stretches from the north west to the south east. The Kaczynka river valley cuts through approximately the middle of the esker. Shaded and humid, the valley is the perfect habitat for ash and alder riparian forests with giant horsetail sites. To protect it, the nature reserve was created in 1977.
