The presence of yews in the forests south of Boleszkowice has been known for years. Following a study of the area, it was decided to establish a nature reserve called “Cisy Boleszkowickie” to protect those trees. According to a local legend, the old owner of those lands, Count von Finckenstein, would plant a yew after every successful hunt. The reserve protects several hundred yews.
CAUTION.
All parts of the yew tree are poisonous!
