The museum is built on the unique historical values of Fortress Kostrzyn, the ruins of the town, the impressive fortifications, but also on intangible values such as dozens of stories on this place. Built in the years 1537-68 by Italian military construction specialists, the fortress is an impressive achievement in both fortification and architecture. In recent years, by the efforts of the town authorities, the museum management and the local community, the Fortress is being gradually restored to its former glory. For a complete experience, do not miss the Fortress Kostrzyn Museum located in the basement of the former casemates of “Filip” bastion.
