According to the church records, the first church in Zabór was built at the beginning of the 16th Century, but it was later demolished. The current temple was built in the years 1905–08 on the site of the old one. After the end of World War II, the parish in Zabór belonged to the parish of St Hedwig in Zielona Góra.
