Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa
Address |
Krępcewo 11, 73-115 Krępcewo |
The fieldstone church in Krępcewo was built on a rectangular plan in the 2nd half of the 15th century. It is an aisleless church and after 1607 a tower was added. Out of the rich equipment of the church founded by the Wedel family, many elements have remained until today. These are: a 15th-century gallery with wooden pipe organs from 1797, a wooden altar from 1797 made by a sculptor from Szczecin, Carl Balthasar Innocentius Sangallo, a side altar made of wood in 1607 by Martin Redtel, founded by Caspar von Wedel, a pulpit from the 1st half of the 18th century, a grave epitaph of the Wedel family and the burial crypt with 21 coffins, out of which a silver and tin sarcophagus was taken, currently kept in one of the chapels of the cathedral in Szczecin. The epitaph commemorates Joachim (1537-1614) and his wife Kordula (died in 1636) and their little daughter Daniela. They took care of Sidonia von Borck during her stay in Krępcewo.
