Around 1.5 km east of the village, you can see an early Medieval settlement. Built around the 8th century on a small hill in the marshes, the ring-shaped settlement had tall bulwarks and was surrounded with a moat. A depression in the bulwarks marks the site of the gate to the settlement beyond. Archaeological digs uncovered pieces of clay pots dating back to the 8th century, including some made without a potter’s wheel.
